Trasna Na Líne
Winner of best short film at the Dublin International Film Festival 2025
A mockumentary comedy documenting the first day of term at Dublin's "best" gaelscoil. After meeting principal Deirdre and her oddball secretary, Gearóidín, new student teacher Emma reveals her secret; she lied on her CV and can't speak any Irish at all. In the staff room she meets the ragtag group of educators keeping the school going and learns she must formally introduce herself to the student body, as gaeilge, at the Back to School Assembly in just a few hours. She bonds with the school's youngest teachers, Múinteoir Eoin and Múinteoir Aisling, who vow to get her Irish into shape by the end of the day. Under the guidance of her new friends, Emma nervously takes to the stage to present. All seems well, until, go tobann.
